The Avlite Elevated Runway Guard Light AV-ERGL is a unidirectional, yellow, alternately flashing LED fixture designed to warn pilots and vehicles as they approach an active runway. Built for runway and taxiway intersections, this elevated runway guard light helps increase visibility at hold positions, especially during low-visibility or severe weather conditions.
This elevated runway guard light provides 24-hour marking with 45–50 alternating yellow flashes per minute at the hold position. The ERGL is typically installed in pairs, with one fixture placed on either side of the taxiway holding position for improved runway safety awareness.
Designed for fast deployment, the solar ERGL installs in minutes with no trenching, cabling, or mains power required. It can also be relocated quickly, making it a practical option for temporary layouts, evolving airport operations, or locations where traditional wired infrastructure is difficult to install.
The AV-ERGL uses energy-efficient LED lights with an average lifespan of more than 100,000 hours. Its adjustable light beam elevation includes positive locking in one-degree increments, while the high-strength powder-coated frame, aluminum housing, stainless steel hardware, 2-inch frangible coupling, and tether support long-term airfield durability.
