The Avlite Illuminated Wind Indicator AV-IWI provides visual indication of wind direction and wind velocity at airfields, aerodromes, heliports, and aviation operating areas. Designed for reliable wind indication, this illuminated wind indicator helps pilots and ground crews identify wind conditions for safer approach, landing, and ground operations.
This illuminated wind indicator is available externally lit, internally lit, or unlit, giving facilities flexibility based on site requirements. It is available in Size 1 with an 18-inch diameter by 8-foot long wind indicator or Size 2 with a 36-inch diameter by 12-foot long wind indicator.
Built with LED technology, the AV-IWI provides dependable illumination while supporting lower maintenance requirements compared to traditional lighting systems. The nylon sock is treated for rot, mildew, and water repellency, helping it withstand outdoor aviation environments.
The AV-IWI features a centre-mounted winch for one-person maintenance, making service easier for airport crews. Solar configurations are sized to the installation location, helping support dependable performance for remote or off-grid airfield wind indication applications.
