The Avlite Solar Taxiway Light AV-70-863 is a high-performance solar aviation light designed for taxiway edge lighting, barricade and closure marking, temporary taxi routes, construction zones, and portable airfield lighting applications. This solar taxiway light is the only FAA Type L-863 certified fixture that also meets FAA Type L-861T photometric requirements, offering flexible use in a single light. With steady blue or red output, dual monocrystalline solar modules, and optional RF control, the AV-70-863 provides a certified option for FAA-funded airfield projects.
The AV-70-863 uses an integrated solar and battery system with maximum power point tracking charging regulation. Its dual solar modules are optimized for low-sunlight environments, while the high-grade NiMH battery and available battery capacity options support dependable nighttime operation.
Designed for demanding airport environments, the light features a UV-stabilized LEXAN polycarbonate body and lens, aviation yellow body, integrated circuit protection, IP68 ingress protection, and a robust construction for operational use. It is shock and vibration tested to military standards, wind rated up to 160 km/h, and humidity resistant up to 100 percent.
